silence is golden

asSalaamu 3laykum wa ra7matuAllaahi wa barakaatuh,

silence is golden and as the well known saying goes " khairul kalaam ma qaala wa daal" (the best of speech that which is short and leads to meaning)

idle talk it is wut usually gets most of us in trouble, and beyond that it will gradually harden your heart and become a distasteful habit, and unfortunately, habits do die hard. be wise and guard ur tounge..use it to bring joy to ur family, ur neighbors, and ur brothers and sisters...use it proudly to spread the message of Islaam and to elevate the cause. dont let it misguide u, overwhelm u and later haunt u...

"May your mother be berieved of you, 0 Mu3aadh ! Is there anything which topples people on their faces - or he said : On their noses - Into Hell-Fire other than the harvests of their tongues"
[Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi]

take the initiative today! and think carefully before you speak and before everything, ask Allaah for help, before u know it, you'll be bringing smiles to people's faces if not already! :)

make death what you seek

Make Death What You Seek

The bullets hit your hearts like the stings of a bee
You fall on your face as all you can see,

Are the Gardens so wide when you're put in the ground
You've been searching for years and now you have found,

The Ultimate Prize, so sacred, so sweet
Your bargain with your Lord is finally complete,

Because you are all martyrs without fear or grief
Who gave all you had for your precious belief,

You promised Him your souls and He promised you much more
Now you can enjoy what He's kept in store,

An endless reward for those who stood by
The covenant they made that towards death they would fly,

While graves burn the sinners and squeeze them so tight
You're shown your places in the Garden, so spacious and bright,

On the Day when Great Terror shall steal all their words
Your souls will rest in the hearts of green birds,

Under the Great Throne with beauty beyond measure
At you ar-Rahmaan laughs, expressing His Pleasure,

Sufficient is this as a heavenly prize
But prepared for you is that never before seen by the eyes,

On your head is placed a crown, one jewel of which is worth
More than all of the jewels contained in this Earth,

You are brought to a gathering with companions so beautiful
The Prophets, the righteous and those who were truthful,

Al-Firdaws, where those of the Right Hand shall meet
Where the soil is white musk, so smooth and so sweet,

You scoop up a handful and throw it in the air
You are relaxed by the rivers flowing everywhere,

Water, milk and honey gushing forth non-stop
So thick and delicious you want to devour each drop,

You drink so much you almost end up falling
Into the flowing current, then you hear voices calling,

You turn and behold! The voices are singing
Coming from Maidens so fair and enchanting,

These are the Hoorees with round and firm chests
Pure untouched virgins, they're better than the best,

Seventy-two in all, with large eyes of dark hue
Each one created especially for you,

They call out your name asking where you are
But to their disappointment, from the battles you are far,

Your heart is intoxicated by the pleasures of this life
Fear (of death) has wounded your manhood like a sharp knife,

A knife sharpened by the callers to Hell's every door
Who pulled the sword from your hand and threw it to the floor,

And given you women, children and money instead
Convincing you 'this is better than ending up dead,'

But no! They are alive, rejoicing and provided for!
When asked what they desire, they will answer no more!

So be from the cream of this heavenly crop!
Shake off your fear and let your doubts drop!

Pick up the sword and grab your horse's reins tight!
Throw off your armor and jump into the fight!

Make your path be none other than Islaam's high peak
Whose mountain is climbled by making death what you seek!

shes so gangster

asSalaamu 3laykum wa ra7matuAllaahi wa barkaatuh this is the story of Khawla...
Khalid Bin Al-Walid had appointed his commandar Dhirar Bin Al-Azwan to attack the Byzantines as part of the war strategy against the Byzantine empire. Dhirar took his orders and engaged the enemy but was captured in the ensueing raids. When Khalid came to pursue the Byzantine army he noticed a lone warrior attacking and killing many of the enemy soldiers and withdrawing. Attacking, killing and withdrawing again. Khalid demanded that the lone warrior make himself known. The warrior obliged and came before Khalid removing the head covering and stated clearly ”I am Khawla sister of Dhirar”...

and from that she began telling Khalid that she was of mind to attack the Byzantines and free her brother. Khalid was very impressed by this display of courage and her skill with the spear so he asked her to join the war against the Byzantines to free Dhirar, she accepted. They ambushed the Byzantine contingent which guarded Dhirar and Khaula fought visciously and killed many men ending the battle with a decisive victory for the Muslims and freedom for her beloved brother, who was also one of the most famous warriors of Islamic history, our beloved Dhirar Bin Al-Azwan The Naked Fighter! He was given this loving nickname because he would throw off his armour and shirt when combating an enemy as a sign of wishing martyrdom and dedication to death in battle.

weeping

`Aaisha radhi Allaahu anha said,

"During his illness, the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam, said: 'Order Abu Bakr to lead the prayer.' I told the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam, that, 'Indeed, if Abu Bakr stands in your place the people will not be able to hear him due to his (excessive) weeping.'"

[al-Bukhari]

Muslim Ibn Bashir (Radhi Allaahu Anh) says that during his last illness Abu Huraira (RA) began weeping bitterly. He was asked the reason of his weeping. At this he said, 'I am weeping because I have a long journey to cover and have the least provisions with me. In the morning I have found myself at a hillock which leads to both paradise and to hell, and I know not wither I would be made to go.'
[Ibn Sad Vol IV p. 62 & Al Hilyah Vol I p. 383]

Abd Allah Ibn Masud (Radhi Allaahu Anh) says that the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) asked me to recite the Qur'an for him. He said to the Prophet, 'Should I recite the Quran before you whereas it has been revealed unto you?' At this the Prophet said, 'I love it more to hear the Quran from someone else.' Then AbdAllah Ibn Masud recited the chapter of 'An-Nisa'. When he recited the verse, 'How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) as a witness against these people?...' (4:41), the Prophet said, 'This is enough.' When Ibn Masud saw the face of the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam), he saw tears rolling down both his eyes.
[Baihaqi, Al Bidayah, Vol VI p. 59]

Ibn Umar (Radhi Allaahu Anh) says that once Umar (Radhi Allaahu Anh) passed by Muadh Ibn Janbal (Radhi Allaahu Anh) and found him weeping. He asked him the reason thereof. At this Muadh said, 'I have heard the Prophet saying that hypocrisy, the least of it, was polytheism and the dearest to Allah from amongst His bondsmen is one who conceals himself so much that nobody searches for him when he disappears from amongst them, and none recognises him when he is amongst them. These men are the leaders of guidance and the lamps of knowledge' [Hakim]

The Beauty Of The Beard

The Beauty Of The Beard

"Glorified be He who beautifies women with long locks of hair
And Men with long beards
There is beauty in the beard
Aye, there is beauty in the beard!

When the lion roars all the animals submit
For the lion is the king of the jungle
The lion with its glorious mane
And a Muslim man grows his mane in pride
Showing the rest of humanity that he is to be respected
Can one imagine a lion without its mane?
Nay, thou canst not!
Then imagine a man without his beard

Woe to worldly women who mock the beards so!
Desiring husbands with clean shaven faces
Woe to women who mock the Prophets Sunnah
In the name of hygiene, neatness and smooth texture
Indeed the women of this world cannot like the beard
But she who wants Paradise adores the beard!

A beard is a gift given to man
Something only he can grow; a woman never can!
When he ponders, he gently strokes it;
When he eats, it stores food;
When he is with kids, they play with it adoringly;
When he is with his wife, she fondles it lovingly;
When the enemy see it, fear is struck in their hearts!
Ah! there is indeed beauty in the beard!

All the Prophets had beards - yes they did!
Muhammad had a beard - so big! so big!
All the companions had beards - o yes! o yes!
All the sages had beards - I know! I know!
All the wise have beards - tis true! tis true!
All the pious have beards - you see! you see!
All the Muslims have beards!? - if only! if only!

Who did not have beards? The kafirun!
Who had clean shaven faces? The kafirun!
Who grew their moustaches? The kafirun!
"And what did our Prophet order?" I here you ask
He ordered us to lengthen the beard and trim the moustache!
Lengthen the beard and trim the moustache!
What greater reason that this can there be
The fact that our Prophet told us to see
That we make ourselves appear to the world
As full bearded men with honour untold

O Muslim brother! Why do you desire to look like a woman
When your blessed facial hair is the differece between you and the opposite gender?
O poor Muslim brother! Why do you imitate the kafir
Instead of following the Prophet of Islam?
O silly Muslim sister! Why are you so blind?
Infatuated with Bollywood actors who have no mind!
O wretched sister! Are you not scared of your choice?
You would rather have a feminine monkey instead of an exalted manly ape!

So indeed I love my beard
And adore the curls and tangles
Which no oil, gel or superglue can ever straighten
My glorious long, curly, messy, fluffy beard!
The playhouse for kids;
The envy of Malaysian people
And the beloved of Allah!
I maybe rejected by worldly women because of this hair on my face
But who care! For my Mum loves it and she puts all such sisters to disgrace!
Be patient Muslim brothers, who shun the trendy look for a Prophetic pose
Paradise with the wide eyed Houris is our final abode!!!!!"

THE ROAD TO GUANTANAMO

asSalaamu 3laykum wa ra7matuAllaah,
i reallly want to see this documentary!

Winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, THE ROAD TO GUANTANAMO is the terrifying first-hand account of three British citizens who were held for two years without charges in the American military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Known as the "Tipton Three," in reference to their home town in Britian, the three were eventually returned to Britain and released, still having had no formal charges ever made against them at any time during their ordeal. The film has already engendered significant controversy due to its critical stance towards the American and British governments.

Part documentary, part dramatization, the film chronicles the sequence of events that led from the trio setting out from Tipton in the British Midlands for a wedding in Pakistan, to their crossing the Afghanistan border just as the U.S. began their invasion, to their eventual capture by the Northern Alliance and their imprisonment in Camp X-Ray and later at Camp Delta in Guantanamo.

Channel 4 Television presents a Revolution production in association with Screen West Midlands, Co-directed by Michael Winterbottom and Mat Whitecross and produced by Andrew Eaton and Melissa Parmenter for Revolution Films. Roadside Attractions will release the film in NY and LA on June 23rd and nationally throughout the summer.

Friends, Close Friends, and the Exchange of Advice-Ibn Hazm

Friends, Close Friends, and the Exchange of Advice

120. Anyone who criticizes you cares about your friendship. Anyone who makes light of your faults cares nothing about you.

121. Criticizing a friend is like melting an ingot: it will either become refined or it will disappear.
122. A friend who conceals a secret which concerns you is more disloyal towards you than one who tells a secret of yours. For the one who tells your secret is simply betraying you, but the one who conceals one from you is betraying you and also mistrusting you.
123. Do not try to be friends with those who scorn you. You will gain nothing from it but deception and shame.
124. Do not scorn those who try to be friends with you; to do so is a form of injustice and it would be failing to respond to their kindness, and this is bad.
125. Anyone who is forced to mix with men should on no account tell his companion everything that passes through his mind. When he leaves him, he must always behave as if he were a desperate enemy. When he wakes up each morning he should always expect his friends to betray him and do evil, expect them to behave exactly like his sworn enemies. If nothing of the sort happens, he should praise God; if it does, then at least he will prepared and the shock will be less. For myself, I tell you I had a friend who had sworn friendship, sincere pure friendship, for bad times or good, for richer or poorer, in anger and in satisfaction. This friend changed his attitude towards me, in a most hateful way, after twelve years of perfect friendship, and for an absolutely futile reason which I would never have believed could influence such a man. He has never been reconciled with me since, and this has made me very sad for many years.
However, one should not do bad things and follow the example of wicked men and traitors.
126. On the contrary, we should learn from this example the path that we should take. It is perilous and difficult to follow and a man would do well to advance as carefully as the pintailed grouse, more cautiously than the magpie, until he turns off the road trodden by mankind and makes his way towards his Lord. This road leads to victory, so we are told by religion and also by the world. The man who follows it will keep the pure intention of healthy souls who are true to their promises, men without guile and trickery. He will possess the virtues of the elect, the character of the virtuous. And, moreover, he will feel as safe as the worst deceivers, as free from care as the evildoers, as the most wicked and cunning people.
127. You should keep any secret that is confided to you, and not reveal it to any friend or stranger, even the man closest to you, if you are at all able to keep it. You should be true to everyone who trusts you, and do not yourself trust in anyone in affairs which you want to succeed except when absolutely necessary, and even then you should stop and think again and make a personal effort and draw strength from God.
128. Be generous with your superfluous possessions and strength to help others, whether they ask you or not, and to help anyone who needs you and whom you are able to help, even if he does not expressly come to you for help.
129. Do not expect any help in return from anyone except God the Almighty and Great. As you go on your way always remember that the first person you help will be the first to do harm and turn against you. Indeed, because of their profound jealousy, men of bad character detest those that help them when they see that the latter are better off.
130. [In your social life] treat every human being as graciously as you can. If someone comes to you with defects and problems such as arise in the normal course of life, do not let them know that you do not like them. In this way you shall live in peace and quiet.
131. When you give advice, do not give it only on condition that it will be taken. Do not intercede only on the condition that your intercession is accepted; do not make a gift only on the condition that you will be recompensed. Do it only in order to practise virtue, and to do what you should do when giving advice, interceding and being generous.
132. The definition of friendship: [it is the middle point] between two extremes.[1] What makes one friend sad makes the other sad too. What makes one happy makes the other happy too. Any relationship less than this is not friendship. Anyone who answers to this description is a friend. A man may be the friend of someone who is not his friend for a man can love someone who hates him. This is the case above all with fathers and their sons, brother and brother, husband and wife, and all those in whom friendship has become burning love. Not every friend is a counsellor although every counsellor, by giving advice shows himself to be a friend.
133. The definition of advice is that the man giving it feels bad about what harms his friend, whether the latter feels good or bad about it, and he feels happy about what is good for him, whether his friend is happy or unhappy about it. This is the added factor which a counsellor has which goes beyond the limit of simple friendship.
134. The highest aim of friendship, and there is nothing higher than this, is to have all things in common, one’s own person, one’s belongings, without any constraint, and to prefer one’s friend to every other being. If I had not known Muzaffar and Mûbârak, the two masters of Valencia, I should have thought that such a sentiment had disappeared in our times. But I have never seen any two other men draw so deeply on all the joys of friendship, despite events which would have separated other men.
135. There is no virtue which so much resembles a vice as the faculty of having many friends and acquaintances. But it is really a perfect virtue, made up of various qualities, since friends are only gained by tolerance, generosity, patience, loyalty, signs of affection, shared feelings, and moderation. It is important to protect one’s friends, teach them what one knows, and to win over them by every kind of praiseworthy action.
We do not mean mercenaries, or those who follow us in our days of glory. They are thieves of the title of friendship, they deceive friendship. You think that they are friends and they are not. The proof is that they abandon you when fortune abandons you. Nor do we mean those who make friends for a particular purpose, nor do we mean drinking companions, not those who gang together to commit crimes, or villainy, to attack people’s honour, to satisfy their unhealthy curiosity or for any other useless objective. These are not friends at all. The proof is that they speak evil of each other, and that they disperse as soon as the evil interests which brought them together are finished. We only mean to speak of those pure friends who unite only in the love of God, either to help each other to make some real virtue triumph or to taste the pleasures of the only true kind of friendship.
If one commits the fault of having too many friends, there is the difficulty of keeping them all happy, the dangers of associating with them, the duties which fall on us when they are subjected to trials (for if you betray them or let them down, you will be criticized and blamed; but if on the other hand you are true to them, you will harm yourself to the extent that you could lose your own life, and this choice is the only one acceptable to the virtuous man if he wishes to be true to his friendship); if one thinks of the worries which we have from the misfortunes which come upon them or which come upon us because of them: death, separation, betrayal of one among them, one will see that the joy brought by these friends is outweighed by the painful sadness which they cause.
136. There is nothing among the vices which is so like a virtue as the desire to be praised. Indeed, if someone sings our praises in our presence, we would be silly to believe it, knowing everything that the Tradition has taught us about flatterers. However, praise may be useful in encouraging someone to do fewer bad things and more good things. It may lead the person who hears it to desire to have a character similar to the one who has been praised. Thus I feel that rulers of the world met one of those people who spread evil wherever they go and who are said to have done evil things, and he received him with praise. He had heard his praises sung on everywhere, he said; on every side people spoke of nothing but his good deeds and his generosity. After this the criminal could not possibly do wrong!
137. Certain kinds of advice are difficult to distinguish from slander for anyone who hears a man criticising someone else unjustly or unfairly and conceals it from the person who is the object of this unjust and wicked statement, by doing this is so unjust and to be blamed. Moreover, if he breaks it to him bluntly, he may bring more trouble upon the spiteful critic than the latter really deserved. This would be unfair to him, for it is not fair to punish ill-doers beyond the measure of their unjust deed. It is difficult for anyone except a very intelligent man to cope with this situation.
138. The solution to be adopted by the intelligent man is such a situation is to protect the victim against the slanderer, and no more, not inform him what the latter said; this is to prevent him going to the slanderer and getting into more trouble. As for sly tricks, one should protect the victim, but nothing more than that.
139. Giving information consists of reporting to someone something one has heard which in no way harms the person one tells it o, strength is from God.
140. Advice can be given twice. The first time is as prescribed as a religious duty. The second time is a reminder and a warning. If you repeat the advice a third time it becomes a remonstrance and a reprimand. After that you have to slap and punch and perhaps try even more serious methods which may cause harm and damage. Certainly, it is only in questions of religious practices that it is permissible to repeat advice incessantly, whether the listener accepts it or gets
irritated, whether the advisor suffers from it or not. When you give advice, give it softly, do not shout it out; use hints, do not speak openly unless you are advising someone who is determined not to understand. Then explanations would be essential. Do not give advice only on condition that it is followed. Otherwise you are a tyrant, not an adviser; you are demanding obedience, you are not allowing religious feeling and brotherly spirit their due. Neither reason nor friendship gives you the right to insist. It is rather the right that a ruler has over his subjects or a master over his slaves.
141. Do not ask of your friend more than you yourself are prepared to give. To ask for more is to abuse his friendship. Do not gain except when you will harm yourself and your behaviour will be detestable.
142. If you find excuses for selfish and greedy men and shut your eyes to their faults, you are not displaying humanity or virtue. On the contrary, it is a base and feeble thing to do which encourages them to continue in their bad attitudes, it applauds and supports them in their wicked actions. Such indulgence would only be humane when displayed towards the just who are quick to pardon and to act unselfishly. In that case it is an obligation for a good man to behave in the same way towards them, above all if they have an urgent need of such tolerance, and if it is more necessary for them.
143. One might retort, “According to what you say, we should stop being tolerant, we should stop turning a blind eye when it is a question of our friends. Friends, enemies, strangers would all be treated exactly the same; this cannot be right.” Our reply would be – and may God help us succeed – nothing but encouragement towards tolerance and unselfishness.
144. You should turn a blind eye not on [the faults of] the greedy but only on [those of] a true friend. If you wish to know how you should act in this matter, how you can keep on the path of truth: if there is a situation where one of two friends needs to be unselfish for the other’s sake, each of two friends should examine the problem and see which of them is in the most urgent need, the most pressing circumstances. Friendship and humanity then impose on the other the obligation to be unselfish. If he does not, he is greedy, avid, and deserves no indulgence since he is acting neither like a friend nor like a brother.
If the two find themselves in equal need, in equal straits, true friendship would require that they race each other to be the more unselfish. If they behave like this, they are both friends. If one of them hastens to be unselfish and the other does not, and if this is what usually happens, the second is not a friend and there is no need to be friendly towards him. But if he would hasten to sacrifice himself in other circumstances then this is a pair of true friends.
145. If there is someone in need whom you wish to help, whether the initiative came from him or from you, do no more than he expects of you, not what you might personally wish to do. If you overstep the mark, you will deserve not thanks but blame from him and from others, and you will attract hostility, not friendship.
146. Do not repeat to your friend things that will make him unhappy and which it would not benefit him to know. That would be the action of a fool. Do not hide from him anything that would cause him loss not to know. That would be the action of a wicked person.
147. Do not be pleased if someone praises you for quality which you do not have; on the contrary, be very sorry because it will bring to public attention that you lack them. To sing such praises is to mock and poke fun, and only an idiot or an imbecile would be pleased. Do not be sorry if someone criticizes you for a fault that you do not have; on the contrary, you should be pleased because your merit will be brought to public attention.
148. On the other hand, you should be pleased to possess a praiseworthy quality, whether anyone actually praises you for it or not, and you should be sorry to have a blameworthy fault, whether anyone actually criticizes you for it or not.
149. Anyone who hears bad things said about the wife of his friend must on no account tell him, particularly if the person who said them was a slanderer or libeller or notorious gossip, one of those people who try to draw attention away from their own faults by increasing the number of people like themselves; this often happens. As a general rule, it is best to stick to the truth. Now, in this case, you cannot know whether the statements are true or false, but you do know that it is a grave sin against your religion to hold such opinions. However, if you perceive that the same thing is being said from several gossips, not just one, or if you are able to verify that the statement is well founded, even if you cannot put your friend in a position to observe what you have observed, then you should tell him everything, privately and tactfully. You should say something like “There are many women…” or “Look after your house, teach your family, avoid this, mind that…” If he takes your advice and is put on his guard, he will have profited from the chance. If you notice that he takes no precautions and does not worry about anything, you must control yourself, not say a word, and remain friends, for the fact that he has not believed what you have told him does not oblige you to break with him. But if, having been in a position to observe some definite proof, you are able to put your friend in a position to see some identical proof, it is your duty to tell him and to make him face the whole truth. If he changes his attitude, that is good. But if he will not change his attitude, you should shun his friendship, because this would be vile man with no virtue and no noble aspirations.
150. The fact that a man enters a house secretly is proof enough that he means ill. The same is true of a woman who enter a man’s house secretly. It would be stupid to require further proof. You should run from such a woman or at least separate. Anyone who kept her with him would be a virtual go-between.
151. Men can be divided into seven categories according to certain traits of their characters. Some praise you to your face and criticize you behind your back. This is the characteristic feature of hypocrites and slanderers; it is common, mostly among men. Others criticize you to your face and behind your back. This is characteristic of slanderers who are powerful and insolent. Some men flatter you to your face and behind your back. This is the mark of flatterers and social climbers. Others again criticize you to your face and praise you behind your back. This is characteristic of fools and imbeciles. Virtuous people take care neither to praise nor to criticize you in your presence. Either they praise you in your absence, or they refrain from criticizing you. Slanderers who are not hypocrites or ignorant say nothing to your face and criticize you in your absence. As for those who want a quiet life, they take care that they neither praise you nor criticize you, whether you are present or absent. We have seen these different types of individuals for ourselves, and we have tested the categories and found them to be true.
152. When you give advice, find a private place and speak gently. Do not say that somebody else has said the criticisms that you address to your companion, that would be to speak ill. If your phrase your advice bluntly, you will annoy and discourage. “Speak to him courteously,” the Almighty has said: “And speak unto him a gentle word.” [Qur’ân 20:44] And the Prophet – peace be upon him – said: “Do not discourage him.” If you are advising someone, and you insist on seeing your advice taken, you are doing wrong since you could be mistaken and you would be insisting on him accepting your error and rejecting the truth.
153. Everything has its use. Thus, I have profited greatly from mixing with the ignorant. This has inspired my inward self, it has sparked off my spirit, it has sharpened my mind, it has driven me to action. It has given rise to written works of some value. If the ignorant had not roused something deep within myself, if they had not woken something that lay hatching in me, I should not have thrown myself into writing these works.
154. Do not blind yourself to a friend by taking a wife from his family; do not sign a contract with him. We have never known these two acts to result in anything but rupture, where ignorant people would expect the ties of friendship to be strengthened. Not so, and the reason is that the two acts force each party to press his own interests to the advantage of others. When there is a clash of individual interests, quarrels result, quarrels bring about an alteration in affections. The firmest alliance is one between two people who are already related, because the fact that they are already related forces them to bear the union, even if they are very unhappy, since they are joined by an unbreakable tie, that of their common origin, which nature obliges them to defend and protect.
Notes:
[1] Nada Tomiche comments on this point by saying that this phrase is fairly obscure at first sight, so much so that Asيn, Los Caracteres has refrained from translating it. It alludes to the theory of Plato and Aristotle taken up by Cicero and adopted by Ibn Hazm: virtue is a happy medium between excess and defect; see below § 295 and note 1, where Ibn Hazm tells us which are the two extremes of which friendship is the happy medium of (see also § 308); they are: excessive attachment and excessive hatred.

Killed during a military operation to defend Sarajevo Airport against the Serbs, in October 1992. Aged 24. 1st/ 2nd Hand Account. Present on [the audio cassette] "In the Hearts of Green Birds". Video footage of him in action at the end of this page [visit Azzam publications, jihad stories section]

Born and brought up in Madinah, the love of Islam occupied his youth and he spent many years learning and spreading the Deen of Allah. A very popular brother in Madinah, he travelled to Afghanistan to join his brothers fighting in the Way of ALLAH. He was with them when Jaaji, Jalalabad and Kabul were captured.

After the Conquest of Kabul he returned to Madinah and stayed there for a few months. He was blessed with a beautiful voice, and he used it to make his famous audio cassette about his brothers killed in Afghanistan. The name of this cassette was 'Qawaafil-us-Shuhadaa' (Caravans of Martyrs). He always used to speak and think about one thing, that was Martyrdom.

Once he was asked, " Why do you hurry for Martyrdom, whereas you have not yet done much for Islam?" And he replied, "What did my brothers give for Islam, who were killed before me. Our souls are the most valuable things that we can give."

In the summer of 1992 he heard about the oppression of his brothers and sisters in the Balkans and travelled with his brother from Madinah, Abul-Abbas, to Bosnia. Two months they stayed there until they fought in the defence of Sarajevo Airport. The fighting was severe and many fighters fled the battle field, except Abu Zubair and Abul-Abbas. Abu Zubair and Abul-Abbas stayed there and fought to defend Sarajevo Airport against the Egyptian United Nations until they fell down Shaheed.

We ask ALLAH (SWT) to accept them from amongst the Shuhadaa and to enter them into the Paradise Most High amongst the Prophets, the martyrs, the pious and the truthful.

ABU SAIF ASH-SHAHRANI & ABU HAMAD AL-OTAIBI
Saudi Arabia

Killed during a military operation to defend a Muslim town against the Serbs, in 1993. Aged in their early twenties. 1st Hand Account. Present on In the Hearts of Green Birds.

"They loved each other in this World, and they shall love each other in the Next. "
Abu Saif was a soldier in the Saudi Arabian Army. One day his mother was sitting at home and she saw the news on the television reporting the genocide of the Muslims in Bosnia. When she saw this she said to Abu Saif, "My son get up and go! Look what they are doing, they are raping our sisters and killing our brothers. My son get and go and I don't want to see you again!"

Abu Saif travelled to Riyadh where he met his travelling companion, Abu Hamad Al-Otaibi. Together they travelled to Bosnia. They arrived at the camp of the Mujahideen on a Wednesday, after a long and difficult journey. By this time they had become very close friends. And all the Mujahideen soon came to know about the love between Abu Saif and Abu Hamad. They finished training and arrived in the front line village Biala-Bucha, on a Wednesday.

During their first night on the frontier, Abu Khalid Al-Qataree (RA) describes what happened, "Abu Hamad came to me at One O'clock in the middle of the night, woke me up and said to me, 'Abu Khalid, wake up! One prayer in this night is better than this whole world and everything in it.' I got up and went to make Wudu. When I returned, I looked for Abu Hamad but could not find him, and then I entered a small room in the corner of the house where the weapons were kept. I entered this room and I saw Abu Hamad in prayer, crying, 'Allahumarzuqni -Shahadah, Allahumar - zuqni - Shahadah, (O' ALLAH bless me with martyrdom! O' ALLAH bless me with martyrdom!)"

Abu Hamad came to Bosnia despite a severe medical problem, that would cause him intense pain and keep him up at night. Some brothers even heard him crying and banging on the walls in the middle of the night. Abu Hamad always used to bring water from the wells for his brothers, whether it was his duty or not.

One night the Serbs launched an attack on the village. So the Mujahideen went out to fight them. Abu Saif was in the front of the group and Abu Hamad was near the back. A 120mm shell came and landed near Abu Hamad. It took off his mouth and throat. Abu Hamad fell to the floor and raised his right index finger three times, keeping it up on the last time before ALLAH took his soul. All of the Mujahideen agreed not to tell Abu Saif that his friend Abu Hamad had been killed as he would surely be very sad and grief stricken upon hearing the news.

When Abu Saif met the rest of the brothers after the explosion, he asked them where Abu Hamad was. The brothers replied to him that Abu Hamad had to return to the village, but he sent a PK machine gum for Abu Saif. Abu Saif was very happy and took the PK. In the operation, Abu Saif was at the front and he killed many Serbs with his PK before he was shot, with two bullets to the head and one to his heart. Abu Saif looked around for something in the sky for a few moments. The brothers were puzzled as to why he was doing this and then Abu Saif fell down into prostration, still holding Abu Hamad' s PK. He stayed in this position for a few seconds, saying, "ALLAHU AKBAR! ALLAHU AKBAR!" Someone tried to take his gun from his him, but he was holding it too tightly. He did not release his gun until his soul left his body.

Abu Saif and Abu Hamad were buried together in one grave, on a Wednesday, just like the two companions who were killed Shaheed in a battle at the time of the Messenger of ALLAH (SAWS). Rasoolullah (SAWS) commented, saying, "They loved each other in this world and they shall love each other in the Next."

ABU KHALID AL-QATARI

A member of the Qatar National Handball team, he came to Bosnia at the end of 1992. He used to love doing double guard duty shifts for 4 hours in the cold weather. He was a very humble and very pious brother. He was of black descent but brothers described his face like a glowing lamp because of the shine and Noor on his face. He had two large marks of prostration on his face due to prolonged prostration, as he used to pray all night long. Once he was asked,
"When will you return back to your country, Abu Khalid?" And he replied,

"I want to be Shaheed here." Abu Khalid once said to a brother,

"Back in Qatar, I bought some fighting clothes to go and fight in Afghanistan, but my mother prevented me from going. But, insha-Allah, this time, with these same clothes, I will be killed in Bosnia."

Before one operation against the Croats, as soon as he was picked by the Ameer, he said to the brother next to him, "Insha-Alllah, this time ALLAH will take me as Shaheed."

As he was travelling in a car with five other brothers, of them Wahiudeen al-Misree, the Ameer of the Mujahideen (RA), they took a wrong turning and ventured 7km into enemy territory. The Croats shot at the car with anti-aircraft weapons and it blew 20 feet into the air. All of the five brothers got out and fought until they were killed. When their bodies were returned to the Mujahideen after two months, the brothers were able to identify four of them but they could not identify the body of Abu Khalid Al-Qatari. When the Bosnian army general said to them, "This is your last man.", they looked at the body and saw that this body was that of a white person with a white face, and they replied,

"This is not our brother: our brother had black skin."

Upon looking carefully at this body, they pulled down his shirt and noticed that from below the neck downwards, its skin was black. They pulled up his sleeve and they found that above the elbows it was black and below the elbows it was white. Then they pulled up his trousers, where they found that his feet were white but the skin above his ankles was black. One of the brothers commented on this, saying that as the Hadith of Rasoolullah (SAWS) goes about the signs of the believers on the Day of Resurrection, the marks of Wudu were shining white on the body of Abu Khalid al-Qatari. May ALLAH (SWT) accept him amongst the Shuhadaa'.

JAMALUDDIN AL-YEMENI

During an operation against the Croats, Jamaluddin's Kalashnikov rifle jammed so with his pistol he killed two enemy soldiers. During the shelling which followed the victory of the Muslims, a mortar bomb landed next to him and killed him, blowing away half of his body. After the operation the Mujahideen went to collect the bodies of their brothers who had been killed. They found all of the bodies except the body of Jamaluddin. Three days went by and there was anxiety in the whole camp of the Mujahideen, as maybe the Croats had got the body of Jamaluddin and were mutilating it. This went on for three days and then, before Salat-ul-Fajr, the Ameer of the Mujahideen at that time, Wahiudeen Misree (RA) had a dream in which he saw himself speaking to Jamaluddin.
He asked him, "Jamaluddin! Jamaluddin! Where is your body, we have been looking for it for three days."

Jamaluddin replied, "ALLAH is taking care of my body."

Wahiudeen asked him, "Where have you been Jamaluddin?"

Jamaluddin replied, "I have been speaking with ALLAH (SWT)"

"What did he you say to you.", Wahiudeen asked him.

Jamaluddin replied, "ALLAH (SWT) asked me, 'Why did you come to Bosnia, Jamaluddin?' and I said to him, 'O' ALLAH, I came here only to please you,', and then ALLAH (SWT) said to me, 'This day I forgive you all of your sins and you may go in Paradise wherever you please.'"

ABU UMAR AL-HARBI
Madinah

Abu Umar Al Harbi came from Madinah Al-Munawarrah to the land of Jihad in Bosnia, after leaving a life of luxury and affluence behind him. Once he arrived at the Front-Line Base Camp, he never went back to the main city. Almost two years he spent at the Front-Line Base Camp, but he never ever wanted to return to the city where there were the worldly attractions, shops and restaurants. He spent all his time in the Camp or in the bunkers on the mountain-tops. Even when he wanted something from the city or from the headquarters, he would tell the brothers to get this from here, get this from his bag which he had in the store room there, or get this and that.
Al-Harbi always used to make the brothers laugh and enjoy themselves. He would create a merry atmosphere wherever he went and thus, he was much loved and very popular amongst all the brothers. If one was to look at him, he would seem like a joker, but during the battles he was like a lion. Although he had a good sense of humour, he had a lot of feelings for the Muslims. When the massacre of the Muslims in Srebenica, 1995, took place, he was very upset, more than other brothers and it pained him a lot.

In Operation Miracle, Harbi was made the commander of a special unit of six brothers. The task appointed to these brothers was to capture three Serb bunkers in the most dangerous terrain on the battlefield. The first Serb bunker in this location was at the top of a large open minefield, unscreened by any trees or bushes. There was only one avenue of approach to this bunker, and that was head on, from the front, as opposed to other bunkers that were usually shielded by trees or steep mounds of earth.

The attack plan was for one brother to fire RPG rockets at the bunker from one side of the field and then the rest of the group would storm the bunker. As the brothers took their positions, a few minutes before the attack was scheduled to begin, the Serbs opened fire across the line, as if they knew that the Mujahideen were about to attack. All the brothers in this unit panicked and whilst, they were thinking about what to do, Al-Harbi began sprinting across the open field towards the Serb bunker, in the face of direct, oncoming fire. The rest of the brothers hesitated before running and shouted to him, 'Are there any mines?' He shouted back:

'ALLAHU-AKBAR!" and carried on running. Upon seeing their leader run, the rest of the brothers began running towards the bunker as well. Al-Harbi reached the opening of the Serb bunker until he was at a distance of 2m from the two Serbs inside the bunker. He was firing straight at them and they were firing straight at him. Just as he killed one Serb, the other one shot Al-Harbi in his forehead, and he fell down shaheed.

The next day, one of the brothers saw Al-Harbi in a dream. His face was extremely white and shining. The brother asked him:

"What happened to you?"

Al-Harbi replied, "The night before the attack, we were in the bunker on the mountain and I fell asleep. During this sleep, I experienced the state of janaba (impurity requiring a bath). When I woke up, I realised that there was no way that I could have a bath in the bunker up on the mountain. So I went into the Operation in a state of Janaba."

He knew that in this situation, one just makes tayammum (ablution with soil), prays and goes, because the Jihad is more important then to return from the mountains to have a bath. Furthermore, he was the Ameer of the whole group and for him to delay the Operation so that he could have a bath was out of the question. Al-Harbi carried on:

"As I was at the Serb bunker, firing inside at them, I felt something tap me on my forehead and then, immediately, I felt two beings take me from beneath each arm and raise me straight up, very fast, into the sky. There, the Angels gave me a bath."

This incident was similar to the incident at the time of the Prophet (SAWS) when his companion Handhala, was shaheed on the day after his wedding night, before he had time to have a bath. The Prophet (SAWS) commented that the Angels bathed Handhala.

AL-BATTAR AL-YEMENI
Yemen
Tank specialist. Killed during Operation Miracle on 21st July 1995. Aged mid-twenties. 1st hand account. Present on In the Hearts of Green Birds.

Al-Battaar was in the Communist army of Yemen and they sent him to Cuba because he liked tanks. They sent him there to train in tanks. He learnt the ins and outs of tanks until he knew every thing about them. When he returned to Yemen, he became a good practising Muslim and, instead of returning to the Communist Army, he went to Afghanistan and fought there for some time. After that he returned to Yemen. When he heard about the Jihad in Bosnia, he travelled there. He had the opportunity to go and he took it. In Bosnia, he set about training all the brothers about tanks. He taught the brothers how to lie under a moving tank, in order to build their confidence whilst dealing with the Serb tanks on foot. His ultimate dream was to take a tank in the fighting as booty (ghanima) and use it against the enemy. He wanted to be the first one to capture a tank for the Mujahideen. In Operation Miracle the brothers caught a tank and they called him on the radio. He was injured in his hand at the start of the operation but, with his hand bandaged, he still went to the first-line at the top of the mountain, jumped in the tank and took it right from under the Serbs' noses. The Serbs were trying to destroy this tank, because they knew that even though they had lost it, they did not want the Mujahideen to take it.

Battaar took the tank from right beneath the noses of the enemy, drove it out from there and took it back to the Mujahideen lines where it would be safe. After dropping off the tank, he returned to the battle. He did not go away, he did not rest but he went back with his injury back to the front line. While helping to remove an injured brother from an enemy bunker, Allah took him as shaheed when a mortar bomb exploded next to him. One brother who brought back the tank with Battaar described what happened when they reached the Mujahideen lines at the bottom of the mountain. They had miraculously taken a tank from the hands of the Serbs and were still alive, so this brother said,

"O Bataar! We do not deserve martyrdom. We are not good enough to be shaheed."

As this brother was injured as well, he decided to go back and have his injury tended to because he thought that the fighting and operation was now over. But Battaar said

"No, I want to go back,"

and he went back up to the top of the mountain. When they entered the bunker to rescue one of the injured brothers, a mortar bomb landed right inside the bunker and Battaar was killed four hours after he left his companion.

ABU MU`ADH AL-KUWAITI
(Adil Al-Ghanim)
Kuwait
Commander of the Foreign Volunteers. Killed during Operation Miracle, 21st July 1995: a military operation to recapture Muslim land occupied by the Serbs. Aged in his late twenties. 1st Hand Account. Present on In the Hearts of Green Birds . Audio recording of his voice and video footage of him in action available at the end of this page.

The son of a Kuwaiti Governor and an Olympic athlete, holding national records for Kuwait, he went to Afghanistan to join his brothers and stayed there on and off for six years. Every few months, he would return to Kuwait in order to raise money and awareness about the Jihad in Afghanistan. He would stand up after the prayers in the Kuwaiti mosques and deliver speeches to the congregation reminding them of their duty to assist their brothers in Afghanistan. He arrived in Bosnia on 04 May 1994 and soon became the commander of the Foreign fighters, due to his previous military and organisational experience from Afghanistan. He was a very humble and pious brother. In Operation Miracle, July 1995, he was not placed in the attack group due to his senior rank and that made him very sad. After the operation was successful, Abu-Muadh went to the top of the mountain and began to organise the groups. He was then hit by a bullet to his upper leg and fell down Shaheed. Four days later one brother from Madinah Al-Munawarra, in Bosnia at the time, saw him in a dream where Abu-Muadh came back to the mosque of the Mujahideen in the Front-Line Base Camp.

The brother narrates,
"I saw Abu-Muadh meeting all the brothers and everyone was happy at seeing him. He had a bandage on his upper leg in the same place as he was shot .Now I became angry at how Abu-Muadh is here when he is supposed to be Shaheed? So I went up to him, shook his hand and asked him,

'Abu-Muadh, why are you here? Are you Shaheed or not?'

He turned away and did not want to say anything. Then, when no-one was looking, he began to make his way to the exit of the mosque. I knew he was going to try and leave, so I waited for him at the door of the mosque. He left the mosque and went outside. Then I saw a plate under him which began to lift him up into the sky. I then ran up to him, grabbed his leg and said,

'Abu-Muadh! Please tell me what is happening! Why are you here? Are you Shaheed or not?'

He replied, 'Yes, I am Shaheed.'

I asked him, 'What is martyrdom like?'

He replied, 'On the day of the operation a window opens in the sky from Paradise and all the Mujahideen that are going to be killed that day pass through this window straight into Paradise.'

I then asked him, 'What does the actual martyrdom feel like?'

He replied 'You do not feel a thing. As soon as you are killed, you see two beautiful blonde-haired girls who
accompany you up to Paradise.'

I asked him 'What is the Paradise like?'

Abu-Muadh replied, 'It is not one Paradise but it is many Paradises!'

I said, 'What about enjoyment and pleasures?'

He replied, 'Every day and in every place.'

Abu-Muadh then said, 'Now let me go.'

So I said to Abu-Muadh, 'Just one last question. Can you tell me when I am going to be Shaheed?'

Abu-Muadh said, 'I cannot tell you that.'

So I asked him, 'Can you at least tell me by coming to me in a dream a few days before I am killed?' and Abu-Muadh said,

'I will try. Now let me go.'

A brother who knew Abu Muadh personally, narrates:

"A very rich man from Kuwait but he still knew the obligation of Jihad. He spent six years in Afghanistan and after Afghanistan finished, he came to Bosnia. This brother used to speak very fast but when he spoke he used to give us Islamic lessons and news of what was going in Bosnia. And when he would speak, he would make you feel so good. Even if it was the worst news that he was giving you, it would make you feel so happy to hear it. Because of his good manners and his organisational skills, the brothers chose him to be the Commander of the Foreign Mujahideen section. A gift that Allah had given him was the tafseer (interpretation) of dreams. So the brothers would go to him and tell him their dreams and he would tell them what they meant. And very often they would come true with pinpoint accuracy. This brother would work night and day in the service of the Deen and the rest of the brothers. And in Operation Miracle, Allah took him as shaheed."

Whilst he was alive, Abu Muadh once said jokingly, 'If I am killed, if Allah accepts me from the Shuhadaa', then take a picture of my face from the left and the right, so that the people can see whether this is an Arab or not!' He meant to say this as a joke to answer those people in the world who were denying the existence of Foreign Mujahideen in Bosnia. Abu Muadh's soul left his body with a clearly distinct smile on his face and video recordings were made of his face from all angles to prove to the people two things: (i) that this was a Foreign non-Bosnian fighter and (ii) it is true that some martyrs are actually found with smiles on their faces, after they have been killed.

May Allah keep you smiling O Abu Muadh and bring you to the ranks of the Prophets together with your Mujahideen brothers that were killed before you. Ameen.

ABU HAMMAM AN-NAJDI
Saudi Arabia

Commander of the 'Lion's Den' Front-Line Base Camp. Killed during an ambush by the Croatian Military during peace-time whilst he was travelling with three other commanders from the Mujahideen Headquarters, Zenica, to the Lion's Den Camp, Zavidovic. Zepce, 14 December 1995. Aged 24. 1st Hand Account. Present on Under the Shades of Swords audio cassette. Photograph of him moments after he was martyred available at the end of this page.

A university graduate from Saudi Arabia, educated and a good speaker of the English language, he entered Bosnia in the summer of 1994 together with Abu Ziyaad An-Najdi (RA). His good dealings with all the brothers and his way of making every brother seem special and important, gained him a lot of respect amongst all the Mujahideen and soon he was appointed the Commander of the Front-Line Base Camp.

He worked very hard in the service of the brothers, trying his best to arrange the affairs of the Base to make things as easy for the brothers as he could. When someone saw him, they would not see a commander or an ameer, but rather they would see a friendly individual to whom they could go up to with their day-to-day problems and discuss them like friends. He was much loved for this unique quality of his. He was the commander who ordered a search party to go and look for Abu Mujahid Al-Brittani, the brother who was killed in Operation Badr of Bosnia.

On the 14 December 1995, he was one of the five brothers who were ambushed by the Croats in Zepce. He was killed instantly by point-blank machine-gun shots to the head, to be martyred and join his four brothers who were killed with him. Abu Hammam and his friend, Abu Ziyaad, entered the land of Bosnia together, they left it together and we ask Allah (SWT) that they remain together in the Gardens of Eternity in the company of their Lord Most High.

ABU THABIT AL-MUHAJIR
Egypt

Military commander and Ameer of the front line. Killed during Operation Badr Of Bosnia on 10th September 1995. Aged early thirties. 1st hand account. Present on In the Hearts of Green Birds.

Abu Thabit was very experienced soldier in the Egyptian army. He spent six years in Afghanistan, training the brothers and fighting. He was a very experienced fighter. He came to Bosnia early in the war in 1992 and he was made the Ameer of the Front-Line, This brother was so tough and so brave that when he fought, he would not even duck from the bullets, that is how fearless he was. Even though he was the commander, he had such a strong character that everyone loved him as if he was their favourite friend. He used to make everybody feel as if he was their favourite friend and his character was such that when one looked at him, one would think that one is looking at a Companion of the Prophet (SAWS). In the first few minutes of Operation Badr, he was shot twice but he did not make a single noise in pain. He carried on fighting, until he was shot by a third bullet in his heart. Without making any expressions of pain, he turned around to the brothers behind him, smiled, and said: 'My brothers, I have been hit." then he closed his eyes, to be followed by his soul.

green-birds =)

Narrated Masruq: We asked 3Abdullah bin Mas3ud about this verse:

"Think not of those who have been killed in the way of Allah as dead; rather they are alive with their Lord being provided with sustenance.(3:169)

He 3Abdullah bin Mas3ud said: We asked the Prophet (sallAllaahu 3layhi wasSalaam) the meaning of this verse. So he explained it like this:

Their souls are in insides some green-birds beside lanterns suspended from the divine throne roaming freely in the Paradise where ever they like. Then they take shelter at those lanterns. Once their Lord looked at them and said: Do you want anything else? They said: What more shall we want? We roam freely in Paradise as we like. Allah asked them the same question three times. When they felt that they would not be spared from being asked, they said: O Lord! We like you to put back our souls into our bodies so that we may be killed in Your way once again. As Allah saw that they had no wish. they would be let for joy in heaven.

(This Hadith is sound and related by Al-Bukhari.)

Narrated Ibn 3Abbas: Allah's; Messenger (sallAllaahu 3layhi wasSalaam) said: When your brethren were killed as martyrs in the battle of Uhod, Allah put their souls into some green-birds which arrived at the rivers of Paradise, ate from its fruits and took shelter beside lanterns, made of gold, and suspended in the shade of the divine Throne. When they enjoyed eating, drinking and sleeping, they said: Who will convey to our brethren on earth that; (we are alive in Paradise where we are provided with sustenance, so that they would neither renounce fighting in the way of Allah nor retreat at the time of war). Allah, the Glorified, said: I shall inform them of you. The Prophet (sallAllaahu 3layhi wasSalaam) said: So Allah revealed this verse:

(Don't consider those killed in the way of Allah as dead, rather they are alive with their Lord being provided with sustenance).(3:169)

(This Hadith is good and related in Sunan Abi Da3ud)

asSalaamu 3laykum wa ra7matuAllaahi wa barakaatuh..
this is my one of my favorite nasheeds/poem ever ...
its featured the 'In the hearts of green birds' CD..

u can listen to it here : (http://media.islamway.com/several/anasheed/hoor.rm)

the original poem was written by the martyred commander,
Shaykh Marwān Hadīd (May Allāh be pleased with him) - Aameen

“The Maidens of Paradise call out, out of joy of marrying a Shahīd,
And the Maidens refuse to marry the inactive,
And Gardens of Eden that no one attains their vastness,
Except a Shahīd whose praiseworthy venture was appealing…”
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
Despair not, O my Brothers,
I am a Shahīd (witness, martyr) being tested,
آجالنا محدودة ولقؤنا في الجنة
Our lives have an appointed time,
But our meeting is in the Gardens,
يا فرحتي بمنيتي اليوم أنهي غربتي
يا فرحتي بمنيتي اليوم أنهي غربتي
Oh! What Joy I have with this death of mine!
Today I end my Ghurbah (the state of being a Stranger; separation from Home)!
ولقؤنا بى مليكنة و محمد والصحبة
ولقؤنا بى مليكنة و محمد والصحبة
So we meet our King, and Muhammad, and the Companions,
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
Despair not, O my Brothers,
I am a Shahīd (witness, martyr) being tested,
آجالنا محدودة ولقؤنا في الجنة
Our lives have an appointed time,
But our meeting is in the Gardens,
وسلامتي في وقفتي يوم الوغى بشجاعة
وسلامتي في وقفتي يوم الوغى بشجاعة
And my tranquility when I stand in the midst,
On the Day of Uproar, is with my courage
نصرا لديني و الدما بشرى بقرب شهادة
نصرا لديني و الدما بشرى بقرب شهادة
To give victory to my Faith, and when my blood is spilling,
Is a glad tiding of the approaching of a Shahādah,
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
Despair not, O my Brothers,
I am a Shahīd (witness, martyr) being tested,
آجالنا محدودة ولقؤنا في الجنة
Our lives have an appointed time,
But our meeting is in the Gardens,
ذكر الأحبة سلوتي في خلوتي و الجلوة
ذكر الأحبة سلوتي في خلوتي و الجلوة
Remembering my Beloved Companions is my consolation,
When I am secluded, and I remember I will soon unveil my Brides (the Maidens of the Gardens),
والقلب دوما شاكر أو صابر في شدة
والقلب دوما شاكر أو صابر في شدة
The heart is always thankful, and patient in adversity
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
Despair not, O my Brothers,
I am a Shahīd (witness, martyr) being tested,
آجالنا محدودة ولقؤنا في الجنة
Our lives have an appointed time,
But our meeting is in the Gardens,
ولئن صرعت فذا دمي يوم القيامة آيتي
ولئن صرعت فذا دمي يوم القيامة آيتي
And if I am struck down, then here is my blood,
On the Day of Resurrection it is my Āyah (proof),
الريح منه عاطر و اللون لون الوردة
الريح منه عاطر و اللون لون الوردة
The smell from it is fragrant,
The colour is the colour of the Rose,
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
لا تحزنوا يا إخوتي إني شهيد المحنة
Despair not, O my Brothers,
I am a Shahīd (witness, martyr) being tested,
آجالنا محدودة ولقؤنا في الجنة
Our lives have an appointed time,
But our meeting is in the Gardens,

Here is the blood of the stab,
It is my sweet basil, it is my happiness,
Oh what Joy for me! How delightful is this!
By the Lord of the Ka’bah: We have triumphed!

Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise.

رب إني لما أنزلت إلي من خير فقير....i like this du3a.. which was recited by prophet Musa 3layhisSalaam when he went to egypt (madyan) and helped those women draw the water from the well while they took care of their flocks, and then he sorta like went under a tree for shade and said that du3a..which means: my Lord truly i am in desperate need for whatever good u send down upon me.....
